What Is the Hub?
The Phlix Hub is an optional companion service that lets you reach your self-hosted Phlix server from outside your home network without configuring port forwarding or a VPN. You claim your server to a hub once, and the hub then brokers remote access, library sharing, and multi-server management on your behalf.
The hub is not required to run Phlix — your media server works fully on the local network on its own. The hub only adds remote-access and sharing convenience.
What the Hub Provides
- Remote access to your server via the hub relay, so clients can connect even when your server is behind NAT.
- Library sharing with friends and family who have a hub account.
- Multi-server management from a single web app.
Once you have an account, the hub's web app is your entry point: open the hub in a browser and you land on My Servers (/app/servers), where you claim servers and reach Federation and Shares from the top navigation.
Next Steps
- Claim your server to the hub — connect a server to a hub.
- Library Sharing — share specific libraries with other hub users by email.
- Share with Friends — invite links and email-based sharing for non-hub users.
- Remote access — how remote connectivity works.
- Self-host the hub — run your own hub instance.
